How is Resilience Achieved?
On each of the following links* you will find links to a diverse range of case studies, research and other material. None of this will provide you with a blueprint for Resilience: the key is to learn from many places and build your own hybrid approach through experimentation until you discover what works for your unique organisation and workforce. The Ten Components of Resilience... 1. Communicative competence |
| Like other assets, the resilience of organisations and their employees can be accumulated or depleted over time. The day-to-day repetition of working practices and immersion in organisational cultures can build up a positive reserve of experience, knowledge, ideas and energy, providing a powerful resource in times of change. However the same processes can also undermine employees’ natural creativity, commitment and morale. What makes the difference? What can organisations do to engage the full range of workforce talent, experience and commitment? The answers lie at every level, from factors that shape the strategy and culture of the organisation as a whole to those that shape the ways in which employees engage with their colleagues and their work tasks. The Resilience Ark Resource Kit draws on the experience of four European companies – BT, EON, Hempel and GSK – as well as an extensive international body of research. It identifies the ten principal components of Resilience described below. |
