It is about the ability of organisations to build the versatility and capacity for innovation that will enable them to adapt to continuously changing circumstances.

It is about the ability of employers to engage the full range of their employees’ skills, creativity and commitment.

It is about the creation of healthy and satisfying jobs for all, enabling individuals to grow and develop as they adapt to the changing needs of their employer while strengthening their employability in the wider labour market. You can download a paper here which explores the pressures which drive change in organisations, and the potential consequences of those pressures. It then examines how organisations achieve resilience for themselves and their employees through the adoption of ‘high road’ approaches to work organisation involving high levels of partnership and participation.

We have also examined in detail four cases of resilience building in European companies: BT, EON, Hempel and GSK.
